Review of Emergency Department - WXH written by a patient
27th May 2019

Hi , I was advised by 111 to visit the urgent care centre due to very high fever vomiting and outrageous trembles and the inability to breath properly , all the staff that dealt with me was great but in perticular a Dr which I did not get the name of due to my health , he was working at station 1 in the a and e/ urgent care centre at 10.15 pm on the 26 th may 2019 and looked like in his late 20’s, as a patient the way he dealt with me at my time of need re assured me I was at the right place getting help, he had a very positive attitude towards his team and also the patients, I would very much like for him to get some sort of credit whether it is a kind word from a senior , I think he may have been a team leader, as many nurses were coming to him. Great job , need more staff like him in the NHS , Thanks

Review of Forest Medical Centre written by a patient
26th February 2019

Arrived at 11.45 for blood test service which is advertised as being open until 13.00 but tickets had already been withdrawn. I queried with receptionist who advised talking to phlebotomists which I did, explaining that I really needed to get test done in readiness for a medication review. The two staff said they couldn’t issue any more tickets and once I had got upset said I could wait until they had seen everyone with a ticket and if that was before 13.00 then they would see me. There were approx 14 people waiting. So I waited until 12.45 by which time everyone had been seen and so I was seen. BTW, several people arrived and left having seen the notice saying no more tickets would be issued, but one couple also went along to see the phlebotomists and left with the woman in tears. Also, at least one person arrived well after me but just went in when a number was called bug no one went in (had obviously left without being seen due to queue). So, all in all, a very poor experience, plus the toilet floor was filthy, wet and covered in toilet tissues.

There were long waiting times but the service and quality of care was worth the wait. They helped me get from a point where I could barely breathe to understanding the condition I was in and providing the treatment necessary. I could not give enough kind words to this team.

Review of Emergency Department - WXH written by a family member
26th December 2018

I am writing this on behalf of my 86 year old mum in law who unfortunately had a fall at home which resulted in a broken wrist, cuts to her left knee, right fingers and face. The care received by all the staff was excellent, we were kept informed throughout. Ian Adams the A.C.P, Angela the A.A.T nurse and Gemma the physiotherapist treated her respectfully and did their utmost to make her comfortable and informed. It was extremely busy on Christmas Eve and we were there for about 4.5 hours but were continually updated and as she was taken in by ambulance, she was triaged very quickly and was sent for an x-ray within 30-45 mins of arriving at the hospital. Thank you very much for all the help and support. The NHS is superb.

Whipps Cross is always very busy and not always with the easiest of situations. The staff are respectful and I have always had a good experience.

The staff at The Holly were very friendly from the lady who makes the appointments to the receptionists, and all the nursing staff.

Extremely patronising staff who belittled my problem and my pain. I was told by both my pharmacist and my GP than my insect bite from abroad had become infected. I could also clearly see that it was infected, as my leg had become swollen and oddly coloured. The doctor and nurse at the A&E check-in scoffed when they saw my wound, barely listening to what I was saying and they said it wasn't infected and I didn't need to wait to be seen and should go home. I demanded to be seen anyway, and the second doctor that saw me immediately said it was infected and I needed antibiotics. The staff also loudly repeated my personal details so everyone in the waiting area could hear them - including my full name, address, phone number and emergency contact. I could also hear them discussing other patients and their personal details and this is a clear violation of confidentiality. Disgusting staff mannerisms.
